The new Taurus variant features an improved USB hub, providing faster connections and greater compatibility with non-compatible USB devices and extenders. In the future, troubleshooting will undoubtedly become synonymous with the name Taurus HC40.
Users who connect their laptop or other mobile device via USB-C will also enjoy up to 100W (120W total) charging, eliminating the need to search for a wall outlet and preventing sudden interruptions to meetings. Good news for Mac users: there is an updated USB-Ethernet gateway for compatibility with MacBook M1/M2.
Our commitment to innovation doesn't stop there: the Taurus UCX HC40 features a number of general improvements, such as a real-time front LED for easy status monitoring and the option to configure internal adjustment for room occupancy (OCS). It also offers more flash storage space, which is particularly advantageous for Lightware's LARA. In addition, the new design of the ventilation holes ensures efficient passive cooling. In the 4x2 and 2x1 variants, we have changed the second USB host port to USB-C (data only) to support active USB extension cables. This simplifies your configurations and ensures that you can expand your AV systems without any problems.
In November 2023, a Dante version of the Taurus UCX 4x2 variant, known as UCX-4x2-HC40D, will be released. This version supports Dante/AES67 network connection, enabling immediate separation of audio signals from the HDMI source. These audio signals can be sent directly to an external Dante/AES67-compatible audio system. In addition, the UCX-4x3-HC40BD version will be available in early 2024, featuring bidirectional Dante functionality.
